GHB and Therapeutic Mindfulness
본문
Motivational interviewing is an approach where the individual struggles with a goal-oriented mindset. The more the person resists and denies a given strategy, the greater their potential for long-term adherence and commitment. MI combines principles from the therapeutic philosophy of client-centered therapy and conversation.
There are four stages to motivational interviewing a client's position relative to change. Ambivalence and resistance are acknowledged.
The person uses excuses and avoidance to prevent change with convincing arguments or aggressive behavior,
The person is intending to change but may feel uncertain and apprehensive or motivated but uncertain about how to proceed, and
The person is fully committed, motivated, and ready or highly motivated and in recovery.
By understanding the person undergoing treatment's status within these stages, a therapist can cater their intervention to increase the individual's progress in recovery. For example, if treating someone in the evading stage the therapist would ask questions that bring up the hidden inconsistency in lifestyle while directly supporting its stabilizing outcomes.
In a study exploring treatments for those undergoing withdrawal the researchers discovered that MI significantly aided the recovery process, showed positive correlations with improved health outcomes,.
Many are also drawn to GHB treatment that combines elements of MI, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies. Within this mix, which also includes treatments for underlying psychological issues, individuals may find themselves equipped with effective coping strategies. However, most notably during the process each patient receives a supportive care by the practicing counselors who assist them not only in physical rehabilitation but also in growing mentally well.
While further research is necessary to form a greater grasp of how specific MI treatments can be applied, beneficial, and successful to individuals with GHB dependency issues, this promising approach may offer a potential resolution, improved outcomes, and sustainable success.
